“The Ultimate Shred Battle Championships are here!”
I’ve won some competitions as a kid. I won an art contest when I was seven and some “battle of bands” competitions in my twenties. It was fun, but unfortunately it didn’t come with consistent revenue and cash flow. Boo-hoo me!
That’s the unfortunate nature of becoming music artists. The stats say that 80% of all startup businesses never make it past 5 years. If that’s true then the stats for becoming a successful music artist suck even more. I would say, based on 30 years of first-hand music experience, that 99% of all bands and artists never make it past 2-3 years.
So if you’re choosing to become a music artist for the fame, fortune, and hoes, then you’re in for a big disappointment. The hoes are there, of course, just don’t expect them to hang around forever. Ha-ha!
